Bring Your Furry Friend to our 10th Annual Mardi Growl!
Put your best foot, and furry friend’s paw forward for our 10th annual howling good time!
At Young-Williams Animal Center, we’re busy planning the 10th annual Mardi Growl pet parade, and we can’t wait to celebrate with the community on Saturday, March 4. The event will begin with a pet-friendly parade at 11 a.m. starting at Willow Ave., and continue with a festival on Market Square from noon to 2 p.m.
It’s a great event for dogs of all breeds and people of all ages. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the animals in the Knoxville community, while also helping our shelter meet its mission. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, these funds help us care for the animals we serve with all proceeds benefiting Young-Williams Animal Center.
You can register at www.mardigrowl.org for $15 per dog. On the day of the event, it will be $20 per dog. Anytime dogs are involved, there is never a shortage of fun. We also offer costume contests for participating pups, including:
- Best Vol Spirit
- Best Dawg Pack
- Pet-Owner Look-a-like
- Most Unique Mixed Breed
- Best Costume
- Best Naked Dog
- Best Dog Couple
We’ll also offer a variety of pet services at reduced rates, such as microchips for $10, rabies vaccines for $10 and pet ID tags for $5. More than 40 vendors representing various animal welfare organizations and pet product manufacturers will be set up on Market Square during the festival.
Remember to mark your calendars and register today. What are you most looking forward to during the 10th annual Mardi Growl event? We can’t wait to see the dogs!
