We really have had some of the best times this kitten season during our yoga and pilates sessions. Thank you to everyone who has joined us and helped our tiniest residents get ready for adoption. This summer, our kitten season campaign has already helped more than 500 kittens younger than 8-weeks old. You have one final chance to build your strength while helping our smallest residents grow. Susie Q will be hosting Kitten Pilates at Noon on August, 27, 2022 at 2424 Sutherland Ave. This one hour pilates class will leave you with the glow of a good workout and a warm, fuzzy feeling knowing you made a difference for vulnerable pets.
Registration is $25 and 100% of proceeds benefit the kittens at Young-Williams Animal Center. Want to share a little extra love with our kittens? Send a care package or bring an item from our kitten shower wish list.
After an accident (falling off a big horse) and a 6 hour back surgery, my doctor told me to take Pilates classes. I took my first class in 2005. My back is in better shape now than prior to my accident.
I realized that I love Pilates so much that I wanted to teach it to others, so they may benefit the way I have. Since I am already a teacher (elementary education), the teaching part has been an easy transition. The movements we do are also easy to teach since I have been doing them so long. I started my teacher training in 2012 and began teaching mat classes in 2013. I started my apparatus training in August 2018 and hope to complete it within a year!
My posture, balance and body is in much better shape now than it ever has been. I no longer have the aches and pains of age (but do get some when I do not work out regularly)! I hope you decide to join me in a class soon!
