Volunteer of the Month :: April 2014
Volunteering for any organization takes some level of commitment. Ray Wagner has taken his commitment very seriously and has been a loyal volunteer since 2008. “I started volunteering in March 2008 and I started out walking dogs and soon moved to cleaning which I did for almost 4 years. I now assist with the website photography 3 times a week. The satisfaction I get from volunteering is the hope that every animal gets the opportunity to find a new home. There is no better feeling than seeing a family leave the shelter with one of our pets”. Not only does Ray volunteer at Young-Williams Animal Center weekly, he and his wife Sheryl foster dogs. Just this past Christmas, the Wagners fostered a momma dog and her 6 puppies for almost 6 weeks. All puppies found loving homes and Mom stayed with the Wagners. “Fostering is just another way to give back to the homeless animals in the community.”
